Richard "Dick" Hartin was a member of the U.S. Army where he trained in Communications school in the Signal Corp. He taught classes in Electronics and was discharged with the rank of SP/5 in San Francisco, CA. He received his B.S.E.E. from UCLA in Los Angeles, CA and his M.S.E.E. at the University of Santa Clara, CA where he majored in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at both universities.
In California he was employed at Hughes Aircraft Co., Ford Aerospace at NASA Ames Research Center, Granger Associates, Nortron Corp./Autotron Corp., National Semiconductor Corp., and Cypress Semiconductor. In Austin he helped start-up Ross Technology from Cypress Semiconductor. He was Chief Engineer designing multiple CPU Systems as well as a clone of a Sun Work Station. He left work there as Systems Engineer Manager of Hardware Design to work at IBM Corp. He retired as the Senior Hardware Systems Engineer and Technical Lead in the Architecture Group on IBM’s low and mid-range computer systems.
Clive Rutherford is a licensed Realtor ® in Lago Vista, a member of the Highland Lakes Real Estate, Inc. team and, together with his wife Joyce, co-owner of Carisbrooke Bed & Breakfast, a small Lago Vista guest house. A Charter Member of the Lago Vista Economic Development Foundation, and a Lago Vista Lions Club board member, Clive has served as director and Vice-President of the Lago Vista Area Chamber of Commerce and is an active community volunteer through both Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce.
Having trained originally as an accountant, Clive spent some thirty years working in the international paper industry, as a sales executive in various multi-national corporations based in Europe, Scandinavia and South Africa, and as an independent sales consultant.
Natives of England, Clive and Joyce moved to Lago Vista in 1998 having resided on both coasts of the United States as well as in Houston. Given the ability to select where to live, they chose Lago Vista for its relaxed Texas Hill Country lifestyle, and all the pleasures associated with living on the North Shore of Lake Travis.
Ronald Hutchison is a seasoned executive offering over 36 years of progressive leadership experience, inclusive of operations management, strategic planning, financial administration, construction, real estate sales, real estate development, and employee development and supervision. Ronald joined the Lago Vista Economic Development Foundation in March 2006 after moving to Lago Vista in April 2005.

Chester Guidry is a retired professional with 40 years of Management and Consulting experience in the Oil Refining and Chemical Manufacturing business. Chester joined the Lago Vista Economic Development Foundation in December 2006.

Gene Hammonds has been a licensed Texas real estate broker since 1973. He holds both the (CRB) Certified Residential Broker designation and the (CRS) Certified Residential Specialist designation. After a 13 year career with Gulf Oil Company, he moved back to his native Houston from New York to become a real estate agent in 1973. After 20 years in Houston, Gene and Clara relocated their real estate business to the Texas hill country and started Highland Lakes Real Estate in Lago Vista. The company celebrated its 13th anniversary in October 2006. Gene has extensive experience in development, commercial, investment and ranch property as well as his residential specialty.
Doug Casey attended Kent State University and San Jacinto Jr. College, Electrical Technology. From 1990 to 1996 he co-owned C.J. Lighting. Doug is the President of Doug Casey Homes, Inc. in Lago Vista since 1996. He has had extensive management and sales experience.
His interests are architecture, literature, travel, design, and water sports.
Jim Bernhard spent six months in active duty and nine years in reserve duty in the United States Coast Guard. He spent 36 years with the 3M Company in various positions including 27 years as International Marketing Manager for the Electrical Construction and Industrial Maintenance Markets. Most of this time he was based in St. Paul, Minnesota, but in 1987 he had the opportunity to transfer to Austin, Texas and he jumped at it!
After retiring in 1995, Jim started a new company called Dock Floats Ltd. Dock Floats began selling encapsulated flotation to eventually replace the raw styrofoam that was being used to float docks on Lake Travis and other waterways in Texas. He retired again when he sold Dock Floats Ltd. in 2003.
Walter Manning graduated from University of Houston with a degree in Business Marketing/Management. He was hired by Heede International to start up and develop an office in Houston. From 1970-1975 he was Vice-President of
In 1976, Walter started Champion Elevators, Inc. where he was President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. As CEO of this multi-million dollar company he was involved in all aspects of the business including banking and finance, national and local codes and regulations, land acquisition and construction, design and engineering, building feasibility studies, sales and marketing and day-to-day people management. He sold his shares in the business in 2003, but remained as President until May 2004.
His interests and hobbies are real estate leasing and development, local and national economy, community involvement, banking, traveling and RVing, the Houston Astros and Houston Texans
