Lago Vista Winter Storm Recovery Plan
BRUSH AND STORM RELATED DEMOLITION DEBRIS
Outdoor Burning is not allowed in the City at this time. The City is in the process for obtaining permits from the State to conduct outdoor burning on City property.
Collect all brush and keep it on your property until notified. Please do not place brush and debris next to the street or curb. Pile it on the side of your property.
The City is securing two sites for brush drop off and will post notice of the
THREE PHASE PLAN
Phase I: City removal of brush blocking roadways begins Monday 2/22/2021. To report emergency clearing of trees blocking the roadways only, email Publicworks@lago-vista.org with location and description.
Phase II: Resident drop off for brush only at two (2) State permitted locations – To Be Determined. Anticipated second week of March (3/8/2021) Drop Off hours will be 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Mon-Sat. We will notify residents if they are available sooner.
Phase III: Beginning March 15th Disbursement of Dumpsters at 5-7 locations around the City for storm related demolition debris. NO Brush, household or hazardous waste will be taken. No Construction debris. These locations will be manned from 7:30 am -5:00 pm Mon-Sat. This plan is subject to modification.
Water service has been restored to all customers.
Citizens are encouraged to check for leaks in and around your property. See the City You Tube Channel for a helpful video from our friends at the City of Marble Falls. If you do not have running water in your home, there may be a leak between the water main and your house. Please check your irrigation system.
The City is coordinating with Travis County to provide drinking water to those in need. We anticipate receiving pallets of bottled water between now and Monday. Volunteers from Lago Vista Cares are prepared to man a distribution center in front of City Hall. Lago Vista Water Distribution Event is designated for the most vulnerable in our community. The event is spearheaded by Lago Vista Cares volunteer group in conjunction with the City. The event is 7 am - 7 pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at City Hall
City Council will address winter averaging for wastewater bills at the upcoming Council meeting.
HEALTH AND SANITATION
The City has requested portable showers and porta-potties from the County. If our request is granted, they will be located in front of City Hall. We will provide more information as soon as it is available.
Lohman Ford has been impacted by the ice and snow. City crews will begin repair work in the next week. Please anticipate road closures and traffic control.

Lago Vista Cares is a non-profit, volunteer group formed to provide recovery assistance to Lago Vista residents. If you are in need of food, household items, or baby items, please contact Susan Galvan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Individuals and business owners in Travis County who sustained losses in the designated area can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462 7585 TTY.
FEMA Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
