Firewise Update by Chief Norman

PRESS RELEASE
Firewise Update by Chief Norman
30 April 2019

Chief Donnie Norman of Travis County Emergency Districts 1 and 7 will be at the City Council meeting on Thursday 2 May 2019 to provide an update on the Firewise program.

Firewise USA began in 2002 and has worked to empower neighbors to work together in reducing their wildfire risk.  The City of Lago Vista became a Firewise member in 2013.  The City and ESD 1 partner in utilizing the Firewise national program to educate our citizens on ways to protect their property, belongings, and loved ones.

We encourage anyone that is not aware of the Firewise program to attend the City Council meeting on Thursday or to tune into the live feed on YouTube to listen to Chief Norman.

If you have any questions concerning Firewise, please contact the City or Travis County Emergency District 1.
